This has been an incredibly overwhelming and scary time for everyone, but amidst the panic some incredible people have been doing some really awesome things. Lauren Lai, soon to be UA graduate, has been working in overtime to create stickers in which a portion of the sale will be given to No Child Hungry. You can visit her instagram @isurvivedapandemic and can purchase stickers through dm there! We asked Lauren to tell us a little about why she started this project, and her response was nothing short of inspiring! "COVID-19 has had a huge effect on the most vulnerable populations. In the United States 22 million children rely on the meals they receive at school. For many children, this is the only food they often have in the day. The pandemic has built a huge barrier for children to get these meals since schools are shut down nationwide. I chose to have my proceeds donated to No Kid Hungry to support and raise awareness for how we can help under-resourced populations during this pandemic and to ensure that children are fed until schools open up again!" As a family studies major, she may have more insight into how this time has affected the school systems and children nationwide, but she's choosing to take action to raise awareness for a cause that everyone can help support!
